Ways I personally save money at Walt Disney World!

ep_07.jpg

My personal opinion is, unless this is your only trip EVER to WDW, then stay OFF property...

**I LOVE Priceline.com Although, it does require ALOT of research to get a fair price. (WARNING, DO NOT USE PRICELINE UNLESS YOU RESEARCH YOUR PRICE, AND BIDDING TIPS ON THE SITE BELOW, BECAUSE IF YOU BID, AND WIN YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY STUCK WITH WHAT YOU GET. PRICELINE IS VERY TRICKY TO GET A TOP HOTEL, BUT IT IS POSSIBLE!)

I have used Priceline on my last 2 trips down to Disney before the $20 bonus Amex money was expired. I have stayed at the Marriott World Resort for $43 + Bonus $ a night last August when the Cheapest rate you could possibly get was $129. This July we have 3 nights at the Wyndam Palace for $33 + bonus $ a night.

There is also a link below, that will take you to a $5 matching $$ deal for $5 per Day, up to $25! Sorry this expired 5/31/01!

Below, you will find a link to send you to a forum about priceline!

Expedia currently is rewarding it's users. If you have purchased from Expedia in the past, you can get a $25 discount on a purchase over $100. This includes airline tickets, and hotel reservations!

There are several rates I know of personally without using priceline right now!

**The Swan and Dolphin are amazing 4 star hotels that are located on Disney's Boardwalk. These hotels are not Disney owned, but are actually located on property, and share the benefits available to people staying at a WDW resort. If you are a teacher you are in luck! There is a $99.00 TEACHERS RATE currently available!!! THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE RATE! Also those who are in the medical field are not left out. There is a $129 NURSES RATE! All you need to bring to qualify is your pay stub from your school or place of business! valid through 12/2001

**This just in! Goverment employees (fed/state/municipal) also are eligible for the $129 rate! (id is required at Checkin) (thanks Marshmellow from Readers Clubhouse!)

**AAA often has discounts depending on season just ask if there is a discount available when you call CRO.

**Disney Club also often has discounts available. This can save you up to 20% off rack rates! It does cost to join the club, but over your stay, in hotel costs alone, you will recoup your $$, not to mention other discounts it gives you at Downtown Disney, Disney Stores nationwide, and online at the Disney Store.

**Rent Points from a DVC club member. This is Disney Owned Timeshare, that members buy to stay at DVC properties. These include Old Key West, Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge, and soon to be built at Yacht and Beach Club. These points often rent for around $10 a point. The resorts are beautiful, and worth every penny. You can rent up to a 3 bedroom! Remember, weekends cost almost twice the points that a weekday does. Below is a link to contact people to rent from!

**All of you Active Duty, or Retired military are not left out of Special deals either! Shades of Green is available to you at low rates based on salary. Also, this may be the cheapest way to purchase tickets into Walt Disney World too! (they are available at Shades of Green for Military personal, or retired Military Personal) You also get the benefits of staying at a Disney Resort. Including Early Entry into the Parks.

**Travelocity also has a good list of hotels in the Disney Area, and you can book them online. I have had alot of luck through them, booking at discounted prices even during peak seasons. They let you know all rates available. I have even been able to book a room through them at a hotel that was "filled" when I called it directly 1 hour prior.
The link is below

** Large group going? Cant find a rate you all can afford? Think about renting a home! I personally haven't done this. However I have heard good things about All Star Vacation homes. I reasearched a 4 bedroom home, that sleeps 10, and I found a rate of $139 a night! If you stay a week currently it includes either 1 extra night free, or even better yet, a free car rental. (you would need one staying off property) Over all that is under $1000 before taxes for a week, if you split it, it becomes reasonable! During Peak Season, you have to stay 7 nights, but during High, or Low season, you have to stay 4 nights. I actually may try this sometime! look for the link below!

I always rent a car. I like having the freedom to come and go when I please. If you are staying on property, parking is free at the parks, if not you do have to pay to park. Although, most hotels run busses to and from the parks (even off property).

**I like National, I belong to the Emerald Club which allows you to pick ANY car in the Emerald Isle, even if you book a intermediate, and say there is a convertible, or minivan on the isle, you can take it for no additional charge. Joining cost $50, or is free if you belong to the Disney Club, or by linking below...

***** Here is a Disney Club Discount code for National that just saved me almost $100! contract id# 5901600!! YOU CAN ALSO ADD CUPONS TO THIS CODE!! You MUST be a Disney Club Member.

THERE HAS BEEN SOME DIFFICULTY WITH THE ABOVE CODE LATELY, NATIONAL STATES THAT THE RATE IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE, HOWEVER, IT IS STILL ADVERTISED. I HAVE HEARD OF PEOPLE GETTING THE RATE, WITH SOME FOOT STOMPING.

** A. P. holders can discounts too, contract id#6700083.... (I saved more $ with the disney club id & 1 day free code...

**** Also just in! National 1 day free (must rent over a weekend, but can be used for weekly rates) cupon id#10005317 The link is below!

**Also, dollar has good rates. I use the codes KISS or GLOBE and that brings down the rates significantly.
Here are some codes for dollar I know of personally... daily, new, kiss, globe, beach, tag, sport and fvg

*** Avis offers Group discounts on car rentals... use code K163324 (rumor is that you DONT have to prove that you are a part of a convention or group)(Thanks again Kelly S)

**Budget offers 25% off online ressies, using bcd#x251000
also has a $199 weekly rate for convertable, SUV, or minivan. using LY.
